How to Sell

Why Scott chose Rendy after testing the market

Rendy Spotlight: Scott Wachter

Scott runs Showing Austin in Austin, Texas — 150 to 250 shoots a year, solo operator. He also reviews, and provides tutorials for, real estate media tools on YouTube (including Rendy). He's tested a lot of them. After going through the market, he landed on Rendy for his service offering. "There's nothing really like it for vertical video. It also has the least amount of hallucinations I've seen — a lot of the ones I've tried will literally add rooms and furniture and artifacts to the video that don't exist. After testing the market, Rendy is what I use and what I recommend."

For his clients, he has Rendy built into packages and available as an upsell. His checkout flow includes 3 of 4 packages with REELS included. — with sample reels playing — so agents who haven't thought about it yet see it at exactly the right moment. He charges $100 to $200 depending on the size of the property. But he doesn't just use Rendy for his clients. He uses it for himself too — posting on YouTube and Instagram to to attract new business, subscriptions and followers. "Clients are wowed by the technology. They like being different than other realtors — most other people haven't seen such a neat product yet." See my full convo with Jake below 🙂"

Our full conversation with Scott Wachter

Q: Tell us about your background — how many shoots do you handle and what does your team look like?

I shoot about 150 to 250 shoots a year and I'm a solo operator. Rendy is great for that because it's so quick and so unique. I've used Rendy for quite a while now after trying many image and video technology companies and software.

Q: How do you add Rendy — is it an upsell or built in? How do you position it?

I add Rendy two different ways — both as an upsell and built into packages. I offer three reel packs in one of four simple package options, and also a la carte. What works really well is a pop-up right before someone checks out through Spiro, with sample reels playing. It's a great add-on for people who haven't thought about it yet. I charge anywhere between $100 and $200 depending on square footage, which can net anywhere from $85 to $175 per shoot.

Q: What results have you seen — any impact on revenue, client reactions, biggest win?

Clients want reels now — that's how they're getting their leads on social media. Verticals are much easier to upsell than horizontals. Clients are genuinely wowed by the technology. They like being different than other realtors, and most of their peers haven't seen anything like it yet. I also use Rendy on my own YouTube and Instagram, and I get a lot of attention and new clients from that.

Q: What advice would you give to someone who isn’t using Rendy yet? How should they start?

've tried a lot of image-to-video options and there's really nothing like it for vertical video. It also has the least amount of hallucinations I've seen — a lot of tools will literally add rooms, furniture, and artifacts that don't exist. After testing the market, Rendy is what I use and what I recommend.
